Karachi. Nov 09: On the directive of City Government’s EDO Municipal Services Dr. Shoukat Zaman, Deputy District Officer Graveyards Mehmood Alam and DDO Gulshan Iqbal Town Mohammad Ali Shah along with S.H.O of P.I.B Police Station Musarrat Mehmood visited Pir Jhanday Shah Graveyard near Old Subzimandi and enquired about dishonoring of graves on which the management of graveyard and people of the area said they knew nothing about any such incident.  A report was also prepared by the city government officers on it and submitted to DCO Karachi Roshan Ali Shaikh which said that no such incident was identified during their visit of the graveyard and they only found four to five graves in decaying condition containing remains of dead body.

This may be noted that this graveyard was not run by the city government and the locals were running its affairs.However, after talking to area people, Municipal Services Department deputed a grave digger and a watchman in this graveyard.

An F.I.R against unknown persons was registered in the Gadap Town Police Station for dishonoring the sanctity of graves in the Goth Ghulam Mohammad Qabrustan.

DDO Graveyard Mehamood Alam Siddiqui and area Wadera Haji Mohammad Khudadad Jokhio were also present on this occasion. The people of this area in the presence of the Pesh Imam reburied the remains in the graves. They also thanked city government for taking immediate action despite of not running this graveyard.

The DDO Graveyard and other officers also visited city government run graveyards in the city and directed strict security in the graveyards…
